Started today as any other day
it was cold outside
Nothing planned to do
but to relax and take in
all that was said

Where's a friend when you need one?
Why does time stand still when you want it to fly by?
What purpose are dark thoughts that try to invade your mind?
Who inspired them this time?
When will it be back to the sunshine?

All that was said
running around in my head
Keeping me lying awake in my bed
Trying to keep tears from being shed.

Was that really that long ago?
Am I truly reminiscing on a time permanently in the past?

I work on each day
so that today can be another day
like any other
