Yes I am late but I still wanted to wish people Happy Holidays.

Christmas is just over...(except for those who celebrate 3 Kings day and then it will be done on the 6th of Jan.)

Hanukkah - today is the 2nd night :)

Kwanzaa - First night of the African American holiday.

And New Year's day is coming up....

Yes these are still hospital pictures, Jamal and his big brother Kyle.

Jamal was very quiet, he's already what my mom considers a "pass around" baby.

Jamal has already gone to the doctor because they thought they detected a heart murmur. Luckily at the time of the appointment, they did not hear it anymore :)

Here's a picture of Kyle the baby and Amber - aren't they just too cute?

Back from the Doctor

Looks like I will be going to the hospital tonight.

I will be back in about a week and share pictures :)

Avoidance doesn't work

And hoping for something doesn't work either

I'm sick.


Bad cough, runny nose, sneezing....the works.
And to think I had the nerve to say I was miserable before.

(yeah all filled with good will and cheer here today...yeah sure)

on the upside, I have my doctor's appointment today at 11:15.

Let's see what happens :)

What a couple of days :)

I have a bassinet!! YAY!!

My former supervisor from my job is letting me use her bassinet until she is ready to take it back :)
This bassinet is so nice, it's round with a little canopy. And a cover to hide the storage base (where there is already pampers and lotion and baby powder)

I am so grateful to her!! And of course to my friend who helped me clean up in time to accept the bassinet :)

So yesterday, I did a huge splurge. I got my hair done. It's now in twists...What does this mean? That I won't look like a creature feature in pictures after my boy is born :)
hehehehe

I am still tweaking my bag to hospital, getting these cute trial sizes for my days in there.

So am I ready? kinda
Am I scared? kinda
Am I Excited? Yes

now if I can avoid getting sick...It would be helpful

Doctor's appointments and cold

Can I say that these should soooooo not go together!

it was BRUTAL yesterday trying to get around. It was soooo cold. And yes I took cabs, which though expensive was best for me because I really can't walk as fast as I used to.

So I visited my doctor, finally getting there after trying to hop over the mounds of snow that were still on the streets. Some of it had the nerve to melt and then refreeze. Slippery walking to say the least.

After doing all the preliminaries, I went into the room and they got to tell me I gained more weight...Thanks a lot..Really wanted to know that ....More weight I have to take off,...sheesh.

The nurse took my blood pressure while asking me how I was doing...I so want this over I said. I mean it.
She said she felt my pain. Then hooked me up to a fetal monitor. And I must have a smart alek for a baby because he did not want to be monitored at all. Every time she found his heartbeat...He moved so it couldn't be monitored... I thought it was hilarious.

Finally after playing evade the monitor for another 10 minutes, he settled down and gave them the readings they wanted.

Then my doctor poked his head in. He moved the inducement date from Monday to Tuesday and gave me some advice on how to relax for the next few days. My other doctor stopped in to introduce me to a new medical intern that started that week. She, the doctor, told me that I could take unisom to help me sleep more at night.
Which I need, there are serious tracks under my eyes, let me tell you.

After the doctor's appointment, I waddle outside and go to the bus stop, hoping I don't have to wait too too long for the bus...
Didn't matter, the cab driver who brought me to the doctor's office happened by and brought me to the store :)

At Target, I found the unisom, got Holiday cards, and picked up a baby book. Then got lunch sat for a bit and then called yet another cab to take me home.
I got home around 3 pm. I was out since 10 am. And I was exhausted.

Tonight I get to go to a school holiday recital. Should be fun, but this is the only time I am going out...

So tired....

Maternity Leave

Ok I didn't work for the first time in a long time, not scheduled work at least.

So what did I do on my first day of Maternity leave??

I had a 7 am meeting with my son's teachers and then proceeded to do volunteer work until 1 pm, then another meeting till 2pm. Then of course I was tired - so I proceeded to go to Target because I was having a contraction once every hour. ( yes I know that makes no sense, but this is me we are talking about)

I did pick up a car seat/carrier at Target for under USD70.00! :)

and batteries for the digital camera. So these are positive things :)


I have been plugging away at my homework for my online classes. So far I am getting an A in one class and a B in the other. I am going to work on that B, I want to have at least an A average.

2 classes per semester is getting harder. It's midterms now and it's time to step it up. Final projects are starting and I have to prepare.

Baby time is fast approaching.....We shall see :)

It's Thursday

I have today and tomorrow at work and that's it!

I am amazed it's gone this fast! People at work have been so wonderful, leaving me gifts by my desk. (forcing me to take a cab home...But hey no one is perfect) I still think it's great.

I found out that I have a diaper bag coming to me. And something else.

Trying to tie up all the loose ends at work is proving a bit hard. Everything I seem to nail down one thing, something else pops up. *sigh*

Have to go to Target now to go get birthday cards for my mom and dad. They have the same birthday.

I had a surprise yesterday!

They gave me a baby shower at work!

Should I be surprised? no but, hey it was still nice. It was very sweet...

I am just so giddy now LOL

Getting close

I have one week and 2 days before my maternity leave.
I have mixed emotions about this. While I am excited because this means that I am that much closer to the baby coming, I am also anxious because I have no idea what to do with myself while on leave before the baby gets here.

I mean in theory, I would get my room together and arrange the bassinet and clean the closet and get everything perfect for the baby. This is what I should do. And what I have been trying to do for the last 4 weekends.

no quite working....I want more sleep! Less heartburn! Less swelling of my FEET!!!

Am I excite that the baby is almost here - yes

Am I exhausted - yes

Am I crazy? Just a little bit more than slightly
